The boy fell while scrambling near Buttermere
A teenager has died after falling 60ft (18m) near Buttermere in the Lakes.
The 17-year-old boy was in a group of four from Darlington who were scrambling close to Eagle Crag on Saturday morning.
He sustained head injuries and was airlifted by RAF helicopter to Whitehaven's West Cumberland Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Another member of the group who became stuck on the fell was lowered to safety by Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team.
About 20 members of the team, and an air ambulance, were involved in the rescue.
