Boy, 12, arrested over Ripley factory fire

A 12-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of arson in connection with a fire at a Derbyshire factory.

The incident at Technique Composites on Peasehill Road, Ripley, began on Sunday evening and resulted in more than 30 homes being evacuated.

Thick smoke could be seen from some distance away and crews from six fire stations were called to tackle the flames.

The boy has been released on police bail while further inquiries are made.
