There have been no sightings of Mr Silvey since 29 January
A body recovered from the sea off the Isle of Wight is believed to be that of a man missing from his Dorset home for nearly five months.
David John Silvey, 62, was last seen leaving his home in Burton, Christchurch, to take a walk on the evening of 29 January.
Dorset Police said the body was discovered near Totland on Friday and Mr Silvey's family had been told.
A spokesman said the Isle of Wight coroner had been informed.
