
Mr Lockwood was thought to be walking home when he was attacked
Police want to trace a woman who spoke to an alleged murder victim as he lay on a street hours before he died.
John Lockwood, 45, was found with head and internal injuries in Lauder Road, Bentley, near Doncaster, on 31 May and later died in hospital.
A man has been charged with his murder and remanded in custody.
A woman reported to have spoken to Mr Lockwood on Wellington Grove has been urged to contact detectives.
South Yorkshire Police said the woman talked to Mr Lockwood on the street between 0200 and 0230 BST, and asked about his welfare.
