South Korea triumphs in Darpa Robotics Challenge

The Pentagon's Darpa Robotics Challenge has come to a close.

The competition was inspired by the difficulties involved with tackling Japan's Fukushima nuclear disaster in 2011.

Only three of the 25 teams scheduled to take part managed to complete all eight disaster-related tasks within the one hour time limit.

The winner was DRC-Hubo, a robot entered by Team Kaist from South Korea - you can see the moment it completed the contest in a record time of 44 minutes 28 seconds at the end of the video compilation above.
