Finding your friends in a crowd is all in the maths
If you've ever lost your friends at a musical festival, sporting event or shopping centre, there's now a solution...probably. Nathan Cunningham, a statistician at the University of Warwick, has run 100,000 tests using virtual people who were trying to find each other in a crowd. He said the best tactic is for both people to actively search for each other rather than stay put.
