Bloodshed continues in Syrian city of Homs

Violence is claiming more and more lives in Syria as government forces continue to fire on rebels in the city of Homs.

The city has been under attack since Friday and hundreds of people are thought to have been killed.

The rebels aren't happy with the country's President, Bashar al-Assad, and want him to step down.

But President Assad has refused to move and is using the army to fight against the uprising.

When a similar situation happened in 2011 in Libya, Britain and other countries stepped in to stop Colonel Gadaffi from killing his own people.

But Syria is different - and is friends with Russia and China, who've said that they won't allow other countries to get involved.

Russia is trying to persuade President Assad to stop the violence - but for the time being the city of Homs remains a deadly place.
