Learn how to beatbox with world champion Bellatrix

Imagine being able to create music without using any instruments!

Well that's exactly what beatboxers do.

The Female World Beatboxing Champion - Bellatrix - swung by the Newsround office to give Hayley a lesson.

Try your hand at beatboxing and learn how to sound like a bass drum, a hi hat, a snare drum and a hum.

Beatboxers use their mouth, lips, tongue and voice to produce different sounds. These noises sound like real musical instruments and when they are put together they create different beats and rhythms.

Some beatboxers sing or use sound effects - including record scratching and even bird sounds.

Artists also use their hands to change the sound and rhythm of their beat.

Modern day beatboxing started way back in the early 1980's.

Artists would create a beat when their record player stopped working so people could carry on performing.

The technique developed and beatboxers now come up with entire songs and perform together as groups.

The first UK Beatbox Championships occurred in 2005.

British beatboxer, Bellatrix, has been crowned the world's female beatbox champion three times.
