Pictures: Wild Planet photographs on display

Photographs of wildlife from around the world are on display in Liverpool. This picture shows a baby gorilla climbing bamboo.

The Wild Planet exhibition at Liverpool World Museum features 80 classic shots from previous Wildlife Photographer of the Year competitions. This photo shows two hares fighting each other.

These two meercats seem facinated by a flying insect in this photo.

Each image also has details of how the photograph was taken and information on how the animal lives in the wild. This underwater pictures shows an elephant swimming.

The annual Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition is now in its 48th year and attracts tens of thousands of entries from around the world. This frog is taking shelter from the rain under a toadstool.

Wild Planet is owned by the Natural History Museum and BBC Wildlife Magazine. This image shows a swan and it's mirror image reflected in the water.

The exhibition runs at Liverpool World Museum from 18 July until 28 October. This shows a whale diving into the ocean against a beautiful sky.
