After 16 days of sport, 302 events and 858 medals, it was time for the London 2012 Olympic Games to end.
Just like the opening ceremony, Britishness was the theme of the night with landmarks like the London Eye recreated in the stadium.
Representing the Queen for the ceremony was Prince Harry. The Duchess of Cambridge was also there with him.
The greats of the British music world performed in the ceremony. Jessie J sang a medley of her hits and joined the band Queen on stage.
More than 4,000 people performed in the closing ceremony with athletes from every country represented in the crowd.
Britain's strong fashion industry was shown off with the country's top models walking down catwalks on the Union Jack flag.
But the star performers of the night were the Spice Girls! The biggest girl group of the 90s got back together for one night to perform their massive hits Wannabe and Spice up Your Life.
Towards the end of the ceremony the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, handed over the Olympic flag to Jacques Rogge, the President of the International Olympic Committee. This will now be passed on to Brazil who are hosting the next Olympics in 2016.
The cauldron which burned brightly for 16 days was lowered and the 204 individual petals representing each country were extinguished.
And it ended with fireworks. A perfect finish to the most inspiring two weeks Great Britain has seen.
