People ride along a street on a smoggy day in Daqing, Heilongjiang province in China. The highest red alert was issued for heavy smog in several cities in Heilongjiang province, according to Xinhua News Agency. Schools and motorways have been closed because of the smog.
A red squirrel darts along a stone wall in the Kielder Forest, north eastern England. Kielder Forest is England's largest forest at 250 square miles (400 sq km) and is home to the largest remaining red squirrel population in England.
A worker hangs clothes to dry on the roof of a garment factory in Dhaka in Bangladesh. Garment factory owners there are planning to bring in a wage increase for their workers. They want international retailers to cover the costs. Workers in the area have been holding strikes since September.
