One Direction and Bowie - who won at the Brit Awards 2014?

Suited and booted - the One Direction boys were dressed up smart for the Brit Awards 2014 which was held at the O2 Arena in London on Wednesday 19th February. But did they win anything?
Yes, you guessed it 1D definitely won some prizes... this year they got the Best Video Award which was voted for by the public, and they also won the British Global Success Award.
David Bowie wasn't there to pick up his award but he won Best British Male Solo Artist. The global megastar is the oldest person to win a Brit after he released a comeback album last year. He won the same prize 30 years ago!
Recognise these northern chaps? The Arctic Monkeys took two awards: Best British Group and the British Album Of The Year prize for AM.
Bastille won the Best British Breakthrough Act beating other nominees for the prize which included Tom Odell and Laura Mvula.
Bruno Mars took the Best International Male Solo Act prize, beating the likes of Justin Timberlake and Drake.
All white on the night - Ellie Goulding won Best Female Solo Artist.
Lorde beat acts like Lady Gaga and Katy Perry to take the prize for Best International Female.
Sam Smith won the Critic's Choice Award - this prize was announced early and it's awarded for upcoming artists. Past winners include Adele and Emile Sande.
It's that catchy song you would have heard on the radio - 'Waiting All Night' by Rudimental and Ella Eyre. They didn't have to wait all night for a prize though - they bagged the British Single award.
Daft idea! Do these guys look like the real deal? Who can tell when the Daft Punk stars always wear robot helmets, but these two are actually impersonators who entertained crowds on the red carpet. The real Daft Punk still won a prize though - they got the International Group award.
For many the big prize of the night was a surprise performance from R&B queen Beyonce. She sang her new song XO.
TV funny-man and actor James Corden was charged with presenting the whole ceremony, which was streamed live across the world on YouTube for the first time ever.
And there was a whole host of other sparkling star to help him hand out the big prizes. Who's shinier? Fearne Cotton or Tinie Tempeh?
And of course there were performances from the music industry's stars of the moment, here Lorde teamed up with Disclosure to sing her song Royals.
Nile Rodgers the brains behind many catchy pop-chart tunes performed Get Lucky with Pharrell Williams.
