How did people celebrate the NHS's 72nd birthday?

Staff from hospitals all over the country took part in a special Clap for our Carers, which took place at 5pm on Sunday, to mark the 72nd anniversary of the NHS. Chelsea and Westminster Hospital was decorated with colourful flowers to mark the special occasion.
Members of the public also took part in celebrations and clapping over the weekend to show support and thanks for NHS staff who have been working extremely hard over the last few months.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson clapped outside No 10 to show his support for NHS staff.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended a special tea party at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Norfolk to celebrate the NHS turning 72. They chatted with hospital staff and their families about their experiences over the last few months and were also given knitted angel keyrings made by staff members.
Nurse Suzie Vaughan also attended the celebrations at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. She spent nine weeks away from her two daughters Hettie and Bella (left) during lockdown to keep them safe.
Lots of football players showed their appreciation for the NHS at their matches over the weekend. Southampton’s players clapped for NHS staff during their game against Manchester City at their stadium on Sunday.
These NHS workers at the Leeds General Infirmary created hearts with their hands to show their love and support for their colleagues.
Lots of famous landmarks were lit up blue over the weekend in honour of the NHS. The London Eye stood out among all the other buildings along the River Thames.
Windsor Castle, which is where the Queen is currently staying, was also given the blue treatment to celebrate 72 years of the NHS.
