Virgin orbit: UK space launch ends in failure

The UK's first ever satellite launch mission has ended in failure.

A jumbo jet nicknamed Cosmic Girl, which was operated by the Virgin Orbit company successfully took off on Monday evening.

The rocket it was carrying, called Launcher 1, successfully dethatched from the jet an hour after launch.

However, word came from the company that the rocket had suffered a technical anomaly, and the mission had failed.
