'Bobby's legacy lives on' through fan donations

Manchester United fans donated more than £50,000 to Sir Bobby Charlton’s favourite charities following the England and Manchester United legend’s death last October.
Charlton, who was a key figure in England's 1966 World Cup victory, was diagnosed with dementia in November 2020 and died at the age of 86.
United confirmed the figure, in addition to £100,000 given by the club to the Sir Bobby Charlton Foundation, Alzheimer’s Society and The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT).
"On behalf of the family I want to thank everyone, not only for the donations but also the love and support they have showed following Bobby’s passing," said his widow Lady Norma. "The response has been nothing short of remarkable.
"I know Bobby would be so proud of the impact the funds donated will have on so many lives. As a family we are engaged with these charities and will see first hand the difference they will make.
"This collective effort embodies the true spirit of our football family and ensures that Bobby’s legacy lives on."
