Graeme McDowell could only manage 63rd place in the Houston Open after shooting a disappointing five-over-par 77 in Sunday's final round.
The former US Open champion from Portrush suffered a double-bogey seven at the fourth and he had six bogeys to go with three birdies.
McDowell finished the tournament at Redstone on one over.
Hunter Mahan claimed a single-stroke victory over Sweden's Carl Pettersson, finishing on 16 under par.
